FAQ about Cotton

Every saree in our collection is crafted from 100% pure, high-thread-count cotton. To verify, look for the "Handloom Mark" and the slight, natural irregularities in the weave, which are absent in machine-made fabrics. Our Bengal,Mangalgiri and Ikkat cottons are tested for breathability and skin-friendliness, ensuring they soften with every wash.
Bengal Cotton (Tant/Jamdani) is famous for its airy, paper-thin transparency, ideal for humid climates. In contrast, Mangalgiri Cotton features a characteristic "Nizam Border" and a denser, more durable weave with a slight sheen. Both are authentic handloom products that offer distinct textures for different occasions.
Our Handloom Ikkat collection uses eco-friendly, high-grade dyes to create the iconic blurred patterns. Because the yarns are tie-dyed before weaving, the design appears on both sides of the fabric. This traditional process ensures long-lasting color vibrancy and prevents the "fading" common in digital prints.
As with all pure natural fibers, minimal shrinkage (1-2%) may occur during the first wash. We recommend a cold-water salt soak for the first wash to "lock" the colors and stabilize the fibers. Our premium quality cotton is pre-shrunk to a large extent to ensure the fit remains consistent.
Absolutely. The crisp structure of Mangalgiri and the elegant drapes of Bengal Cotton, stylish statement ikkat cottons make them the gold standard for professional ethnic wear. They are lightweight, sweat-absorbent, and maintain a polished look throughout the day, making them a sustainable alternative to synthetic formal wear.
